Brigham Young Historic Park

The Brigham Young Historic Park design focuses on the utilization of water from City Creek by early settlers. It provides the visitor an opportunity to enjoy flowing water, shade trees, flowering shrubs, sandstone walls, historic features, and a dramatic remembrance of an earlier era. Rock gardens nestled into the slopes of the park provide a dramatic backdrop to the waterwheel, which symbolizes the industrial efforts of the early settlers. In addition, the park includes life-size bronze statues, by artist Peter Fillerup, depicting men, women and children working and playing in harmony with the water and landscape providing an interactive relationship between the visitor and the park.
